Pod One
The hot tub
We want you to enjoy and get the most from your hot tub during your stay. Please make sure everyone in your party has read the following.
- Hours
- For the comfort of our guests and neighbours, and to keep to the general noise restrictions, the hot tub must not be used after 10:00pm or before 10:00am.
- Daily checks
- To comply with best practice we check the hot tub twice a day, morning and evening. Please vacate it if asked, so staff can test the water and add any chemicals needed.
- Adverse results
- If a test comes back adverse, the hot tub may need to be closed for a period.
- Misuse
- We reserve the right to withdraw the hot tub without refund in the event of misuse. If it has to be shut down, cleaned and refilled because of misuse, an additional charge of £130 applies.
- On arrival
- Because of our quick turnaround, during busy periods and in the winter months the hot tub may not be up to temperature when you arrive.
- On departure
- The hot tub is not available after 8:00am on your day of departure, so it can be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected for the next guest.
- Occupancy
- Four people maximum.
- Towels & gowns
- Provided for two people. Additional guests should bring their own.
Using it
- Undo the clips and use the cover lifter to remove the cover. The cover should never be put on the ground — replacement clips are charged at £20 each.
- Never switch the hot tub off entirely. It loses heat and the sanitation is affected.
- When it is not in use, make sure the cover is on and secure. Please make sure you know how to remove and store it, as it is an expensive item to replace.
- Take care getting in and out — the surrounding area becomes slippery when wet.
Your health and wellbeing
- The hot tub is set to 38°C and we recommend that this is not exceeded. At that temperature, limit yourself to 15 minutes at a time; longer can affect your inner organs and cause fever-like conditions.
- Please shower and rinse before getting in. This washes off the skin bacteria and chemicals that reduce the cleanliness of the water — there is an en-suite shower in your pod.
- Anyone with skin, ear, genital or other body infections, open sores or wounds should not use the hot tub, because of the risk of spreading infection.
- Pregnant women, and anyone with heart disease, diabetes, low or high blood pressure or any serious illness, should speak to their doctor first.
- Children under 16 must be supervised by a suitable adult at all times. Children under 10 must not use the hot tub at all.
- Never use the hot tub alone.
- Excessive use can increase the risk of allergic reactions and skin complaints. If a reaction occurs, get out, rinse off in the shower, tell the owner and seek advice from your doctor.
Please do not
- Use the hot tub if you notice any deterioration or discolouration of the water. Contact the owner and stop anyone else using it until it has been checked.
- Drink alcohol before or during use. The heat speeds up its effects and can cause sleepiness, dizziness and unconsciousness.
- Use the hot tub while taking narcotics or any medication that may cause drowsiness or raise or lower blood pressure.
- Use it after a heavy meal or exercise, as the water temperature affects your heart rate.
- Drink the water or put your head under. This raises the risk of infection and of drowning, because of the suction below the water line.
- Bring glass anywhere near the hot tub. Breakages are a serious hazard and mean the tub must be drained and cleaned — plastic alternatives are provided in each pod.
- Sit on the plastic lid covering the filter, or on the hot tub cover.
- Use any electrical appliance in or near the hot tub.
- Use the hot tub if you have topped it up with water yourself, as the chemical balance will need to be reset.
